Tee Off in 2013

The Texas A&M University Golf Course renovation by Sterling Golf Management should be completed by fall 2013.

Texas A&M University has partnered with Sterling Golf Management to renovate the 60-year-old golf course on campus. Designed by Jeff Blume ’89, the course will utilize the natural lay of the land to create diverse holes for the enjoyment of golfers of all levels.

The new golf course will feature 18 holes with a bigger and improved driving range, a practice green and three extra holes for teaching and research purposes. The total cost to revamp the course has been estimated around $7 million. “Golfers can also look forward to resting in a new outdoor pavilion or stopping by the club house and visiting the wholly renovated pro shop,” said Sterling Golf Management CEO Rene Rangel. “If weather permits, golfers can expect to tee off again by the first football game next fall.”

    Fundraising idea:

A 3 day, 2 man format with 3 flights playing 3 different courses in B-CS
One course would be a 2 man scramble
One course would be a best ball
One course would be a combined score
Play would rotate to each course over the 3 days
Would make for a great opening weekend event for the new facility

It seems like it is a big secret or something
